New Delhi: Delhi Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh hailed the overwhelming participation of citizens in the Yamuna Cleanliness Drive conducted across 28 ghats in the national capital, describing the initiative as a growing people’s movement dedicated to restoring the river’s glory.

Participating at Hathi Ghat near ITO, the minister witnessed thousands of Delhiites, including children, youth, women, senior citizens, volunteers and members of social organisations, joining hands for the large-scale cleanliness campaign. He said the collective enthusiasm reflected a strong sense of responsibility towards the Yamuna and its future.

Emphasising the river’s significance, Singh said the Yamuna is not merely a water body but an integral part of Delhi’s cultural, spiritual and historical identity. He stressed that ensuring a clean and rejuvenated river for future generations is a shared responsibility that extends beyond governments and institutions.

The minister credited the campaign’s growing momentum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Yamuna Sankalp”, stating that the initiative has evolved into a public-driven movement. According to him, the large turnout at the cleanliness drive demonstrated increasing public awareness and commitment towards restoring the river’s dignity and cleanliness.

Expressing gratitude to citizens, volunteers, social organisations and workers who contributed to the effort, Singh said their participation showed that meaningful change is possible when people and government work together with a common purpose. He reaffirmed that the mission for a clean, beautiful and rejuvenated Yamuna would continue with the active involvement of every Delhiite.
