New Delhi: A floral tribute ceremony was organised at the National Office Extension on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji, under the leadership of Delhi BJP President and Union Minister of State Shri Harsh Malhotra. National Organiser Shri V. Satish addressed the gathering as the chief speaker and highlighted Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji’s life, ideals and contribution to Indian public life.

The programme was conducted by Delhi BJP State General Secretary Shri Vishnu Mittal. Senior BJP leaders, Union and Delhi government ministers, MPs, MLAs and office-bearers paid floral tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Harsh Malhotra said Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji dedicated his life to national service, organisational development and the upliftment of the last person in society. He said the concepts of Integral Humanism and Antyodaya provided a distinct direction to Indian politics and public service.

Malhotra said Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji believed that the true objective of development was to ensure that facilities and opportunities reached the last person in society. He added that his ideas continue to inspire BJP workers to work in the national interest and towards public service.

According to Malhotra, the spirit of Antyodaya has been given prominence in welfare initiatives under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, particularly those aimed at empowering poor, deprived and vulnerable sections of society. He said Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji viewed politics not as a means of acquiring power, but as an instrument of service to the nation and society.

Addressing the gathering, Shri V. Satish said Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji’s political journey was marked by deep thought, organisational ability and a long-term vision. He said Upadhyaya Ji provided not only an ideological foundation but also a distinctive method of working.

Describing him as an efficient organiser, profound thinker and visionary, Satish said personalities capable of thinking far ahead of their times and anticipating the direction of social and national development were rare.

He said the Bharatiya Janata Party’s present identity had emerged through decades of organisational work, struggle and ideological commitment rather than overnight. Concepts such as patriotism, national interest and “Nation First”, he said, had developed through sustained efforts by generations of workers and leaders, with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji playing an important role in this journey.

Satish also placed Upadhyaya Ji’s contribution in the broader historical context of the 20th century. Referring to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the founding of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1925 by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar Ji, he contrasted the emergence of competing ideological and organisational approaches during that period.

He noted that Marxist ideology emphasised class struggle, abolition of private property and a state-centric economic and social system, while the organisational approach emerging in India placed emphasis on society, the nation, organisation and cultural consciousness.

Satish said that, over subsequent decades, this organisational approach influenced Indian political life, while thinkers such as Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji contributed to developing it into a systematic ideological framework.

Among those present at the ceremony were national leaders Shri B. L. Santosh Ji, Shri Shiv Prakash Ji, Shri Nagendra Ji and Shri V. Satish Ji; Delhi BJP Organisation General Secretary Shri Pawan Rana; National Secretary Shri Jaiprakash; Delhi ministers Shri Pravesh Sahib Singh, Shri Ashish Sood and Shri Ravindra Indraraj; MPs Shri Manoj Tiwari, Shri Yogendra Chandolia and Smt. Bansuri Swaraj; and several senior BJP leaders and office-bearers.

Delhi Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Shri Mohan Singh Bisht, Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Shri Satish Upadhyay, MLAs Shri Ajay Mahawar, Shri Raj Kumar Bhatia, Shri Ravindra Negi and Shri Chandan Kumar Chaudhary, Deputy Mayor Dr Monika Pant and other state and district office-bearers also attended the programme.
