Udalguri: The birth anniversary of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, popularly known as Veer Savarkar, was observed with enthusiasm in Udalguri on Wednesday under the initiative of My Bharat Udalguri, functioning under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with Sahasi Nari Swaichhasevi Sangathan.
A solemn programme was organised under the leadership of the organisation’s President Navanita Sharma and Secretary Runusmita Rajbongshi, where participants remembered and discussed Savarkar’s contributions and ideals. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of lamps before Savarkar’s portrait.
Representing My Bharat, Dr Milan Das attended the programme and highlighted the life, vision and works of Veer Savarkar. He also appreciated the efforts of Sahasi Nari Swaichhasevi Sangathan for organising the event in a dignified and meaningful manner.
