Volunteers from the NGO Anmol Cultural Club also assisted in distributing the water.

SUNDERBANI: A Shabeel programme (serving cold, sweet water) was organized today by Gurdwara Singh Sabha Behanigala, allowing thousands of people to quench their thirst amidst the summer heat. This program was held to mark the martyrdom (Shaheedi Diwas) of the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
Meanwhile, volunteers and the Chairman of the NGO Anmol Cultural Club, Zorawar Singh, also extended their support to this noble initiative.
The Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir—including local Singh Sabha Gurdwaras in areas such as Behanigala Tanda, Sunderbani, Thandapani, Nowshera, Rajouri, and Poonch—regularly organizes Sabeel programs to serve the public. Serving cold water on such occasions—often prepared as a blend of milk, rose syrup, and water—holds deep historical significance.
