
SARIMUL LASKAR -SILCHAR: In a significant breakthrough in the ongoing war against drugs, Hailakandi Police achieved a major success on Friday. A team from Hailakandi Police Station, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Samir Daptar Baruah, conducted a raid based on specific intelligence and arrested a person with a substantial quantity of heroin.
Acting on secret information, the police team raided Gangpar Dhumkar Part-2 area and arrested Nazim Uddin Mazumdar (42), a resident of Bahadurpur Part-2 village. During the search, 50 heroin-filled vials were recovered from his possession. The total weight of the seized heroin is 26.16 grams, according to police sources.
This operation is being seen as a major achievement in Hailakandi district’s intensified anti-narcotics campaign. A case has been registered against the arrested person under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
