Chandigarh/Batala: Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav visited the residence of martyred Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Joga Singh in Batala on Saturday, extending condolences to the bereaved family and paying tribute to the officer’s sacrifice in the line of duty.
During his visit to village Ghaniye Ke Bangar, the DGP lauded ASI Joga Singh’s courage, dedication and selfless service, stating that his supreme sacrifice reflected the highest traditions of the Punjab Police.
“ASI Joga Singh’s sacrifice will always be remembered with pride and honour,” DGP Yadav said while expressing solidarity with the family.
The 54-year-old officer, who joined Punjab Police as a constable in 1989 and was serving with the Traffic Staff of the Amritsar Commissionerate Police, lost his life in the line of duty on May 24, 2026. He is survived by his mother, wife, son and daughter.
Assuring the family of unwavering support, the DGP said Punjab Police stands firmly with them during this difficult period and will provide every possible assistance. He also reiterated that those responsible for the crime leading to the officer’s death would be brought to justice.
The Punjab Police chief further conveyed that the Punjab Government remains committed to extending all eligible welfare benefits and support measures to the family of the fallen officer.
