Government to Take Welfare Schemes to Citizens’ Doorsteps from June 18–20, Says Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh
New Delhi: To commemorate 12 years of service, good governance and welfare-oriented governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Delhi government will organise 39 Jan Kalyan Shivirs across the national capital from June 18 to 20, aiming to connect citizens directly with welfare schemes and public services.
Preparations for the initiative were reviewed at a high-level meeting chaired by Delhi Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh at the Delhi Secretariat on Thursday. Senior officials from multiple departments, including Health, Education, Transport, Social Welfare, Power, Revenue, Delhi Jal Board, MCD and DDA, participated in the review.
Officials were directed to ensure that citizens visiting the camps receive information, assistance and access to government services in a simple, efficient and citizen-friendly manner. Special emphasis was laid on increasing public participation and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes.
Addressing the meeting, Parvesh Sahib Singh said the Jan Kalyan Shivirs would serve as a bridge between the government and the people, ensuring that welfare benefits reach every eligible citizen. He stated that the camps would not only provide information about government schemes but also offer a platform for direct interaction with citizens and resolution of their concerns.
The minister urged Delhi residents to visit their nearest Jan Kalyan Shivir and take advantage of welfare schemes and services offered by both the Central and Delhi governments.
The three-day outreach programme is expected to strengthen public service delivery, citizen participation and grassroots governance across Delhi.
