Pankaj Nath, Assam: Ajanta Neog, Minister of Women and Child Development and Tourism, Government of Assam and the newly-appointed Guardian Minister of Kamrup District, chaired a review meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) held in the hall of the integrated District Commissioner’s Office at Amingaon in Kamrup district on Wednesday. In the meeting, the Minister gave a detailed overview of the progress of various ongoing developmental schemes and projects in the district. The Minister directed the officials to ensure that all the proposals are disposed of within 24 hours and no work should be left undecided so that the services could be delivered expeditiously within the protocol of governance. She also made it clear that all development works should be completed within the time limit and the standard and quality of works should not be compromised under any circumstances. She laid special emphasis on implementing cleanliness, accountability and quality execution. Ajanta Neog said that information on developmental activities and collective progress should be shared regularly with the concerned legislators to ensure better coordination and effective monitoring. It was also directed in the meeting that monitoring and reporting of projects should be done in a more transparent manner and if any irregularities or delays are noticed in the project, it should be rectified expeditiously. The officials present in the meeting included Kamalpur Assembly constituency MLA Diganta Kalita, Samaria MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed, Hajo-Shuvalkuchi MLA Prakash Chandra Das along with Kamrup District Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Police Subhasish Barua, Kamrup Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Siddhartha Goswami, District Development Commissioner Sushanta Kumar Dutta , Additional District Commissioner, Co-District Commissioner, Assistant Commissioners and senior officials of various departments were present. In the meeting, progress reports of major infrastructure, health, education and tourism related projects of the district were presented and necessary resource and timeline adjustments were discussed. The Minister also asked the concerned officials to remove unnecessary hurdles in the land sanction, sanction and financial issuance processes for timely delivery of the benefits of the schemes to the public. The officials briefed the Minister on the current status of all the projects, upcoming priorities and anticipated challenges. The meeting concluded in a positive and decisive atmosphere with the aim of enhancing coordination, ensuring accountability and improving the quality of government services. The Minister directed the officials to share progress reports regularly and hold follow-up meetings as and when required.
