Quetta/Bolan: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two coordinated attacks on Pakistani security forces in the Bolan region of Balochistan, alleging that six personnel of what it described as Pakistan’s “occupying army” were killed and two others injured.

In a statement issued by BLA spokesperson Azad Baloch, the group said its fighters ambushed Pakistani forces on Saturday, March 7, at around 4 p.m. in the Bibi Naani area of Bolan District.

According to the statement, BLA fighters used “modern and automatic machine guns” to target a Pakistani military post, killing one soldier at the scene. The group claimed that its fighters later adopted a strategy of striking the same post again under cover of darkness.

The BLA said its militants took concealed positions in nearby mountainous terrain and monitored troop movements before launching a second assault around 10 p.m. Snipers allegedly opened fire from multiple directions in what the group described as a surprise attack.

The second strike reportedly resulted in the deaths of five additional Pakistani soldiers and injuries to two others, the statement said.

The militant group asserted responsibility for both ambushes and reiterated its objective of continuing attacks against Pakistani forces until the establishment of an independent Balochistan.

Pakistani authorities have not immediately issued a statement confirming the casualties claimed by the insurgent group. The province of Balochistan has long witnessed separatist violence, with armed groups accusing Islamabad of exploiting the region’s natural resources while maintaining heavy military control.
