London: The Republic of Balochistan has announced that its defence and security forces now control 85% of Balochistan’s territory, describing the development as a major step towards its bid for international recognition.
In a statement issued on 13 July 2026, the group said it had declared independence, adopted the national anthem “Ma Chukain Balochani,” introduced a national flag and unveiled a proposed national currency, the “Balochi Falus.” It also claimed authority over the region’s key natural resources, including gold and copper mines, more than 150 active gas fields, and over 1,200 operational coal mines.
The statement asserted that governance across the claimed territory is being carried out through its own civil administration and security forces. It further claimed to have a force of 500,000 personnel across military, naval, air and civilian institutions, despite acknowledging the absence of conventional heavy weaponry such as fighter aircraft, tanks and missiles.
The organisation also alleged increasing resignations by Baloch and Pashtun personnel from Pakistan’s military and security services, claiming this reflected growing support for its independence movement. It pledged that Balochistan’s territory, airspace and coastline would not be used to threaten neighbouring countries.
Concluding its statement, the Republic of Balochistan urged the international community to formally recognise its independence, arguing that such recognition would contribute to greater regional stability and end decades of conflict.
Pakistan has consistently rejected all claims regarding Balochistan’s independence, maintaining that the province remains an integral part of the country. The claims made in the statement could not be independently verified.
