Giving this message, Roopamani Garh, a young climber from Assam’s Lakhimpur, hoisted the Indian tricolour on the top of the world’s highest Mount Everest on Friday. Rupamani, who was part of the mountaineering team of the 14-member Indian Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), created history by stepping on the summit of Everest as the first member of the team. She is the second daughter of Rupamani Garh, a resident of Na-village Pathar in Kadam area of Lakhimpur district, farmers Jai Singh Garh and Kamalavati Garh. He joined ITBP in 2020 and is currently posted in Haryana. Rupamani, who was selected for the special mountaineering expedition organized by ITBP, participated in the Everest expedition with the team after crossing Nepal after rigorous training and preparation. According to the information, the team successfully climbed the summit on Friday morning. Roopmani hoisted the Indian Tricolour on the summit and from there safely returned to the base camp. After reaching the base camp, he gave the happy news of this success to his parents. This achievement of the daughter proved to be a moment of pride and emotion for the parents who raised the family by farming in the midst of limited resources. At present, Rupamani and his team are safe in the base camp. It has been told by the agency that after the completion of the necessary formalities, all the members will return to their respective workplaces. The success of this daughter of Lakhimpur has made the entire Assam and the nation proud and has proved that with determination and discipline, any goal can be achieved.
