
Pankaj Nath, Assam: Ram Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of the India , visited Tinsukia in Assam on Friday to review whether the activities are being implemented properly in the schools run under the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI). He examined the educational activities in three schools of Tinsukia — P.M. Shree Kendriya Vidyalaya, P.M. Shree Bardubi Higher Secondary School and P.M. Shree Gopal Krishna Girls High School — after detailed discussions with the school head, class teacher, members of the school administrative committee, parents, students, CRC and BRP. He reviewed all the directions that could be covered within the limited resources of those schools and highlighted the necessary aspects and gave valuable suggestions.
During this inspection, the Joint Secretary was assisted by Tinsukia District Additional Commissioner Khuchi Kaneria, Inspector of Schools Madan Pegu and District Primary Education Officer Binti Sharma. Ram Singh laid special emphasis on the infrastructure of schools, quality of education and implementation of NEP 2020. He also inspected the classroom, drinking water, adequacy and cleanliness of toilets as well as the use of computer labs, science labs and smart boards. The classes also advised the students to focus on proper planning, rigorous practice and time management to achieve success in competitive exams. He also supervised the precautions and training to be taken during menstruation at PM Shri Gopal Krishna Girls High School. In the evening, a meeting was held at the Circuit House at Gelapukuri in Tinsukia with District Commissioner Sumit Sattawan and Additional Commissioners as well as officials of the Education Department to discuss what measures should be taken to further upgrade the schools in future.
