Chandigarh/Mohali: The SAS Nagar (Mohali) police have arrested two accused in connection with the murder of Gurvinder Singh, who was shot dead outside the Mohali district courts complex last month, and have recovered the vehicles used in the crime.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harmandeep Hans said the arrests were made as part of the Punjab government’s ongoing drive to strengthen law and order in the state. The accused have been identified as Baltej Singh alias Bunty, a resident of Tehna village in Faridkot, and Mangat Singh alias Max, a resident of Jalalabad in Fazilka.

Police recovered a black Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle (PB-22-D-5444) and a white Honda Amaze car (UP-14-CD-6847), both of which were allegedly used during the commission of the crime.

Gurvinder Singh was shot dead by unidentified assailants near his parked vehicle outside the district courts complex in Mohali on January 28, 2026. His wife, Amardeep Kaur, who is the complainant in the case, had earlier expressed suspicion about the involvement of foreign-based gangster Satinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar, alleging that her husband had been receiving threats from him.

According to SSP Hans, analysis of CCTV footage revealed that two assailants arrived at the spot on a black Pulsar motorcycle, carried out the shooting and later changed clothes before fleeing in a white Honda Amaze car. Based on technical surveillance and human intelligence, the investigation indicated that the murder was allegedly masterminded by Goldy Brar in connivance with his associates Vicky Singh alias Vicky Sattewala and Ravi Kumar alias Ravi Faridkotia, who are currently based abroad.

Following the disclosures made by the arrested accused, the police recovered both vehicles used in the crime, the SSP said, adding that efforts were on to identify and arrest other associates involved in the conspiracy.

A case (FIR No. 23 dated January 28, 2026) has been registered at Police Station Sohana under Sections 103(1), 109 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 25 of the Arms Act.
