New Delhi: In a major overhaul of Delhi’s health administration, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered the transfer of more than 40 medical, paramedical and administrative personnel in the Central Procurement Agency (CPA) to strengthen transparency, accountability and efficiency in the procurement of medicines and medical equipment.
The restructuring includes the transfer of 10 doctors, among them Head of Office Dr. Vinod Kumar Ranga, along with 19 paramedical staff such as pharmacists, lab technicians, attendants and drivers. Ten administrative employees, including section officers and assistants, have also been reassigned as part of the exercise.
The government has simultaneously posted 12 medical officers from various hospitals and health institutions to the CPA to reinforce procurement, storage, supply and administrative operations. Additional responsibilities have been allocated to officers overseeing key units, including the Store and Purchase Branch, Project Branch, Computer Cell, Mobile Health Scheme, RTI and Hospital Coordination.
Gupta said the move aims to build a more robust and transparent health procurement system and ensure timely availability of medicines, equipment and essential healthcare materials. She asserted that the government remains committed to providing better healthcare services to Delhi residents and would not tolerate negligence or indiscipline in the department.
