New Delhi: Thousands of people gathered at Swabhiman Sthal, Ghevra Mod, on Monday to pay homage to former Delhi Chief Minister and Union Cabinet Minister Sahib Singh Verma on his Punyatithi, celebrating his enduring legacy of simplicity, integrity and selfless public service.
The solemn prayer meeting was attended by Delhi Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, senior party leaders and citizens from across the Capital, reflecting the lasting respect and admiration the veteran leader continues to command.
Remembered as the voice of Delhi’s rural communities, Sahib Singh Verma rose from a humble farming family in Mundka to the highest offices of public life while remaining firmly rooted in the values of honesty, humility and service. Paying tribute, Delhi Cabinet Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma said Sahib Singh Verma’s life was a shining example of integrity and unwavering commitment to public welfare.
“He believed politics was never about acquiring power but about serving society with honesty, humility and compassion. His ideals continue to inspire us, and we remain committed to carrying forward his vision of inclusive, transparent and people-centric governance,” he said.
Leaders across the political spectrum described the late leader as a visionary administrator, educationist and mass leader whose contributions continue to shape Delhi’s development.
