India secured a dominant 61-run win over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup clash. The defeat sparked fierce criticism of Pakistan’s players, management, and cricket board leadership.

India’s emphatic victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup clash on Sunday has triggered sharp criticism for Pak team, with former cricketers, fans and commentators lashing out at the team over yet another disappointing performance against their arch-rival in cricket. Adding to the backlash, Pakistani journalist Huda Shah delivered a scathing assessment of the Salman Agha-led side, describing the defeat as “the height of shamelessness,” blaming it on “useless players,” and questioning the team’s preparation.

India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs — India posted 175/7 and then bundled out Pakistan for 114– in the match which was played after initial boycott by Pakistan over the decision to remove Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman from Kolkata Knight Riders’s IPL squad.

“This is the height of shamelessness,” Huda Shah said in a video posted on social media. “You were going to lose, but you could have at least chased a little, you could have worked a bit harder”.

She questioned reports of the Pakistan team’s intense practice ahead of the match against India, asking why it did not translate into their performance on the field.

“What did they even practice? Certainly not batting. There was so much news about batting practice done, bowling practice done, fielding practice done. But what exactly did you practice?” she asked.

Further slamming the team, the disappointed anchor said, “I mean, these guys couldn’t even reach 100. The team is facing huge embarrassment. We already felt the humiliation would be bad, but this much humiliation!”.

“So many useless prayers. It would have been better if we had not taken back the decision of not playing (with India). At least we would have been spared this disappointment and humiliation” she concluded.

Pakistan’s performance in Colombo invited sharp criticism, not only for the players but also against the team management and the cricket board. Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar launched a scathing attack on Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi, questioning his competence and the continued backing of players who are underperforming.

“Now one guy doesn’t even know he’s the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. How will the team run now? You’re saying one guy, you’ve made him a superstar, he can’t win a single match. You’ve made him a star who can’t win a single living match,” Akhtar said.

With a 61-run decisive win over arch-rival Pakistan, India stormed into Super Eight leg of the T20 World Cup.
