
Pankaj Nath, Assam: A delegation led by Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora on Friday met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and extended his respects and support. The delegation was attended by AGP legislature party deputy leader and senior MLA Keshav Mahanta. The meeting appreciated the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, overall development of the state and public welfare policies.
During the meeting, Atul Bora and Keshav Mahanta praised the steps taken under the leadership of the Chief Minister in the fields of education, health, infrastructure, industry and investment, women empowerment and youth development. He said that these policies have created a positive atmosphere in the state and are showing clear signs of improvement in the standard of living of common citizens.
The delegation said that the creation of a “Naya Assam” is not just a vision but a practical policy destination in which inclusive development and social harmony are of special importance. The meeting also deliberated on implementation of development projects, coordination and monitoring of resources and ensuring effective outreach of schemes at the local level. Emphasis was laid on expansion of infrastructure, accelerating agriculture and rural development initiatives, and empowerment through women-youth-centric programmes.
According to political analysts, this formal goodwill show under the leadership of Atul Bara publicly underlines the cooperation and unity within the BJP-friendly alliance. At the local level, this meeting is being considered as a positive sign for coordination of development programs, trust within the alliance and for the general public. In the end, the delegation reiterated their support to the Chief Minister and hoped that the cooperative work in the coming days will further accelerate the development momentum of Assam. They pledged to work together to ensure all-round development, peace and prosperity of the State.
