Kabul: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has summoned the Chargé d’Affaires of the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul and handed him a letter of protest over what it described as a violation of Afghanistan’s airspace by the Pakistani military.

The protest followed airstrikes carried out against civilian areas and facilities in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Paktika provinces, according to the ministry.

The Islamic Emirate condemned the attacks in the strongest terms, describing them as a clear violation of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Afghan authorities also categorically rejected allegations that recent security incidents in Pakistan originated from Afghan soil.

The Ministry said such allegations were “baseless” and argued that using them to justify military action amounted to an attempt to distort reality and mislead public opinion.

It further called on Pakistan to address its own responsibilities and focus on identifying and resolving what Afghanistan described as the actual root causes of its internal security problems, rather than attributing them to external factors.

The protest marks a fresh escalation in tensions between Kabul and Islamabad over security allegations and cross-border military action.
