Peshawar: The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist militant organisation operating in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, has claimed to have stepped up attacks on Pakistani security forces, including the capture and destruction of more than 14 security checkposts over the past three months.

According to the BLA, its fighters seized weapons and other military equipment after overrunning security positions in different parts of the province. The organisation has also released photographs and videos which it claims show its fighters taking control of the posts and subsequently destroying them.

In its latest claim, the BLA said a Pakistani military vehicle was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Malent area of Tump. It claimed that three Frontier Corps personnel were killed in the attack.

The organisation also claimed responsibility for attacks on Pakistani security installations and checkposts in several other areas of Balochistan. It said military vehicles were destroyed at some locations, while weapons and military equipment were seized after security positions were captured.

The BLA further claimed that security installations located around the strategically significant Quetta-Taftan trade route had also been targeted as part of what it described as a coordinated campaign across Balochistan.

The organisation said more than 14 checkposts had been captured during the past three months, with several subsequently destroyed. However, it did not provide details of the total quantity or types of weapons and military equipment it allegedly seized.

The latest claims come days after the BLA said 25 Pakistani military personnel had been killed and three military vehicles destroyed in two separate attacks. According to the organisation, one attack targeted a military convoy near Ziarat Cross, while another took place in the Surab area.

The claims made by the BLA have not been independently verified, and Pakistani authorities have not publicly confirmed them.
