New Delhi: Dr Parvinder Singh, President of the World Buddhist Federation, hosted and facilitated a dinner in honour of BRICS delegates from Russia, Brazil and India during his recent visit, highlighting the importance of global cooperation, peace and stronger ties among member nations.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Singh commended the collective efforts of BRICS nations in fostering global cooperation and congratulated India for successfully hosting the event. He particularly appreciated the participation of the Russian delegation and the contributions of Brazilian representatives, praising their commitment to strengthening relations among member nations.
The gathering brought together representatives from diverse sectors, including banking and finance, economics, technology and infrastructure, reflecting the broad-based and inclusive spirit of the occasion.
Dr Singh also spoke appreciatively of BRICS Pay, noting its potential to serve as a valuable addition to facilitating trade and promoting financial inclusion across the Global South.
Extending a warm invitation, Dr Singh welcomed all BRICS countries to visit Thailand, expressing hope for deeper cultural and diplomatic engagement in the future.
Reflecting on the importance of world peace, Dr Singh described peace as a core fundamental principle of Buddhism. He emphasised that dialogue, compassion and mutual respect among nations remain essential to building a harmonious global community.
Dr Singh further appreciated the efforts of Dr Pawan Josh towards building a sovereign and self-reliant India — आत्मनिर्भर भारत — in line with the collective vision of a sovereign BRICS and the creation of an inclusive platform for all, truly embodying the spirit of वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् — the world is one family.
He also lauded the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, whose emphasis on आत्मनिर्भर भारत and a rules-based, multipolar global order continues to strengthen India’s role as a bridge-builder within BRICS and on the world stage.
Dr Singh remarked that India’s growing stature was a source of pride and inspiration for partner nations working towards shared prosperity and global harmony.
The dinner was attended by senior delegates and dignitaries from the participating BRICS nations, marking another step in the ongoing exchange of goodwill between the World Buddhist Federation and the international community.
