Chandigarh: Punjab Police on Tuesday organized a Chhabeel outside the Punjab Police Headquarters to commemorate the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji and the occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, serving cold sweet water to the public amid intense summer heat.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav joined the seva, personally serving water to passers-by and paying tribute to the Sikh Guru’s ideals of selfless service, compassion and humility.
Several senior police officers participated in the initiative, which was conducted in the traditional spirit of seva to provide relief to citizens during the scorching weather.
Highlighting the force’s commitment to environmental responsibility, the DGP also planted a neem sapling at the headquarters premises as part of efforts to promote a greener future.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Yadav said the timeless teachings of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji continue to inspire society to serve humanity with dedication, empathy and selfless commitment.
