Bangkok, Thailand: In a significant gesture reflecting the deep-rooted spiritual and cultural bonds between India and Thailand, His Excellency Mr. Puneet Agrawal, Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a respectful visit to His Eminence Somdej Phra Theerayanmuni (Phukphumphuyang) at the historic Wat Debsirindrawas Ratchaworawihan in Bangkok.

During the visit, Ambassador Agrawal received the blessings of His Eminence and engaged in meaningful discussions on enhancing religious, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges between India and Thailand. The interaction underscored the enduring civilisational connections that have linked the two nations for centuries through Buddhism, shared cultural traditions, and mutual respect.

The discussions focused on promoting greater cooperation in areas such as Buddhist pilgrimage exchanges, cultural heritage preservation, academic collaboration, interfaith dialogue, youth engagement, and tourism. Both sides acknowledged the important role of religious institutions and cultural organisations in strengthening understanding and friendship between the peoples of India and Thailand.
