Singapore: In a rare convergence of diplomacy, business, philanthropy and spirituality, Singapore hosted the “Sina Ba Sina: Heart to Heart” dialogue, where renowned Sufi scholar and spiritual leader Haji Syed Salman Chishty called for compassion, unity and inner reflection in an increasingly divided world.
The gathering, held at The Vagabond Club on June 1, brought together diplomats, corporate executives, wellness practitioners and community leaders for an intimate exchange centred on the timeless values of love and human connection.
Haji Syed Salman Chishty, the 26th Generation Gaddi Nashin of Dargah Ajmer Sharif and Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, urged participants to embrace presence over division. “The world is fractured because of a lack of presence. When one heart truly meets another, that is the Sufi path,” he said.
The session was moderated by Harpreet Bedi Garcha, CEO of Garcha Group, while Ajay Singh, First Secretary at the Indian High Commission in Singapore, attended the event, adding diplomatic significance to the gathering.
Drawing on teachings from Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism and Sufism, Chishty highlighted shared spiritual principles, including the concepts of universal family, unity of existence and oneness of creation. He stressed that love remains the common thread connecting the world’s great wisdom traditions.
Addressing contemporary challenges, he encouraged audiences to cultivate silence, gratitude and patience, while reiterating the Chishti message of “Love Towards All, Malice Towards None.”
The event concluded with a recitation of the celebrated invitation by the 13th-century mystic Jalaluddin Rumi, calling seekers from all walks of life towards hope and spiritual renewal.
Organisers said the meet-and-greet session extended well beyond schedule as attendees engaged in personal conversations, with many describing the evening as a deeply moving experience.
