The Republic of Balochistan has extended heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri to Hindu and Sikh communities, as well as all those observing the sacred night around the world.
In an official message released on 15 February 2026, the Republic described Maha Shivaratri as more than a festival, calling it “a night of faith, reflection, and inner strength.” The statement highlighted the spiritual significance of the observance, during which devotees offer prayers in temples and homes in remembrance of Shiva, revered as a symbol of transformation, resilience, and truth.
The message emphasized that the sacred night represents hope and renewal, noting that “even in the deepest darkness, there is the promise of light.” It also underlined the spiritual practices associated with the occasion, including fasting, meditation, and night-long devotion, describing them as reflections of profound discipline and faith.
Referencing the Balochistan Liberation Charter, the Republic of Balochistan reaffirmed its commitment to democratic values, equality, pluralism, and mutual respect. The statement stressed that safeguarding religious freedom and protecting minority rights remain fundamental pillars of its governance.
The Republic further declared that diversity is a source of strength and pledged to ensure that all communities can celebrate their religious traditions without fear, discrimination, or intimidation.
Concluding the message, the Republic expressed hope that the spirit of Maha Shivaratri would inspire unity, dignity, peaceful coexistence, and a future guided by justice, compassion, and shared hope.
“Har Har Mahadev,” the statement concluded.
