New Delhi (Chandan Singh, Page 3 News): Acrylica 2025, the two-day annual art festival of Vibgyor, the fine arts society of Shivaji College, opened on 13 November 2025 with vibrant displays of creativity and cultural expression. The event was organised in collaboration with Udaan and brought together students from colleges across Delhi University.
The festival was inaugurated by Dr. K. P. Singh, Director of Gandhi Bhawan, who served as the chief guest. Professor Ravinder Kumar, Director of the Centre for Independence and Partition Studies and Dean of the Cultural Committee at Delhi University, attended as the Guest of Honour.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Kumar highlighted the growing relevance of art in everyday life, while Dr. Singh emphasised the role of confidence and meaningful content in shaping effective student communicators.
Shivaji College Principal Prof. Virender Bhardwaj commended the students for putting together an impressive event. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Prof. Deepika Yadav, Convener of the Cultural Committee, and Dr. Nidhi Garg, Convener of the Vibgyor Society.
This year’s theme, “Vasudeva Kutumbakam: World Cinema with the Essence of Traditional Indian Artforms,” inspired a range of innovative artistic works. Students from multiple colleges participated in Atopia, an art exhibition competition, and Filmy Palette, a poster redesigning contest.
The first day concluded with the announcement of competition results and the felicitation of the winners. Day Two featured a special workshop on Kalighat paintings, conducted by artist Sumalata Mattaparti, in association with Udaan’s Visual Art Vertical.
The festival was sponsored by Thoorvi Arts, which provided prizes for the winners.
Acrylica 2025 concluded as a resounding success, offering a vibrant platform for young artists and celebrating the richness of Indian art and culture.
