New Delhi: In a major move to make home ownership more accessible, the Delhi Government has announced the expansion of the Delhi Cooperative Housing Finance Corporation Limited (DCHFC). Shri Ravinder Indraj Singh, Minister for Cooperation, chaired a review meeting on the initiative, directing officials to open a new DCHFC office in Rohini next month. This office, set to benefit North-West Delhi residents, will be the second DCHFC branch in the city after the one at Siri Fort.
During the meeting, Singh highlighted that the cooperative sector had been neglected by previous governments, and stressed that providing affordable housing loans to middle-income groups, economically weaker sections, and cooperative housing society members was a key priority for the current government.
The new expansion plans include further outreach to ensure that more people are aware of and can access the affordable housing loan schemes. Singh also emphasized strengthening DCHFC’s technological capabilities to make the loan approval process smoother, faster, and more transparent.
DCHFC offers loans for various housing needs, including the purchase of flats in cooperative housing societies, renovation, and freehold property purchases. The corporation also provides financial assistance to societies for infrastructure improvements such as lift replacements, solar power installations, and rainwater harvesting systems.
Singh also directed officials to continue expanding DCHFC’s reach by opening more offices in suitable locations across Delhi. The government’s aim is to make the dream of home ownership a reality for more Delhiites, especially through cooperation and affordable loan options.
