Indian agencies have struck hard in their crackdown on global drug syndicates and the underworld. Notorious gangster and drug trafficker Salim Dola has been deported to India following his arrest in Istanbul. He was flown into Delhi on a special aircraft and immediately taken into custody under heavy security.
Sources say Dola had long been running an international narcotics network tied to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, orchestrating operations from abroad. His capture and forced return mark a decisive hit on the syndicate’s global operations, tightening the noose around the underworld’s drug empire.
After initial interrogation at the airport, central agencies secured his custody. He is expected to be handed over to the Mumbai Police or the Narcotics Control Bureau for deeper investigation.
