Jaipur: A ‘Paigham-e-Mohabbat’ (Message of Love) Harmony Conference will be organised by the Congress Minority Department at Jaipur’s Birla Auditorium on February 16.
On Monday, the Congress Minority Department will host this harmony conference at the Birla Auditorium in Jaipur. Imran Pratapgarhi, National President of the Minority Department and Rajya Sabha MP, will participate in the event, where discussions on contemporary issues will also take place.
MD Chopdar, State President of the Rajasthan Congress Minority Department, shared this information with the media on Saturday. Chopdar stated that since the BJP government came to power in 2014, the country’s Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb (composite culture) is being destroyed by creating an atmosphere of hatred. He added that to counter the BJP’s hateful ideology, Rahul Gandhi undertook a 3,500-kilometre foot march from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He remarked that while the BJP may continue its actions, Congress will keep opening its “shops of love” (Mohabbat ki Dukaan).
In this regard, a ‘Paigham-e-Mohabbat’ (Message of Love) Goodwill Program is being organised by the Congress Minority Department in Jaipur on February 16. The event will see the participation of prominent leaders including Imran Pratapgarhi, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra, Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully, former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot, Harish Chaudhary, and former Assembly Speaker CP Joshi.
Petition Against the Anti-Conversion Bill:
Chopdar stated that the BJP government in Rajasthan introduced the anti-conversion law specifically to target minorities. “We have filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this, with the hearing scheduled for March 24,” he said. He further criticized the government for introducing the Disturbed Areas Bill, calling it anti-constitutional and anti-democratic. He questioned how any area could be declared a ‘disturbed area’ arbitrarily, alleging that the government’s sole aim is to polarize votes through communal politics. “We will continue to oppose the hateful ideology of this government and the BJP,” he added.
