Islamabad: Another alleged terror operative linked to anti-India activities has died in Pakistan under mysterious circumstances, raising fresh questions over the fate of figures associated with the country’s militant networks.

Lashkar-e-Taiba-linked commander Qari Saeed, also known as Abdul Aziz, and reportedly a close associate of Lashkar founder Hafiz Saeed, suddenly collapsed inside a mosque in Islamabad shortly before prayers. He was reportedly given CPR before being rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The circumstances surrounding his sudden death remain unclear. There is currently no confirmed evidence of a shooting, explosion or physical attack, making it premature to label the incident an assassination. However, the unexplained death of another alleged figure from a terror network targeting India is likely to attract close attention from security agencies.

According to reports, Qari Saeed entered the mosque carrying a bag, handed it to an associate and performed ablution before prayers. As he proceeded towards the main prayer hall and sat down to remove his slippers, he reportedly collapsed without warning. People nearby attempted to revive him with CPR before taking him to hospital.

CCTV footage reportedly showing the incident has also emerged, according to media reports. The footage is said to show Qari Saeed entering the mosque before suddenly collapsing.

Long-Standing Lashkar Links

Reports cited by the media claim that Qari Saeed had been associated with Hafiz Saeed since around 1990 and held a senior position within Lashkar-e-Taiba. He was reportedly involved in the organisation’s terrorist activities until around 2017 and allegedly played a role in recruiting operatives.

He was later reportedly shifted to administrative responsibilities within the organisation and eventually given charge of Lashkar’s Shoaba-e-Warasa-e-Shohada department.

According to the reports, his alleged responsibilities included providing financial assistance to families of terrorists from Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan in southern Punjab who had been killed while operating in India. He was also reportedly involved in maintaining records of terrorists associated with these areas.

Mystery Surrounds Sudden Death

Qari Saeed’s death comes amid continuing scrutiny over unexplained deaths and attacks involving individuals linked to Pakistan-based banned militant organisations.

Yet, in this particular case, the facts remain limited: he reportedly collapsed suddenly inside a mosque, was given emergency medical assistance and later died in hospital. The precise cause of death has not been established in the available reports.

The key question now is what caused the sudden collapse of a man reportedly associated for decades with one of Pakistan’s most notorious anti-India terror networks.

Was it an unexpected medical emergency—or will further investigation reveal something more? For now, the circumstances remain shrouded in mystery.
