New Delhi: Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh on Monday launched two books highlighting the state’s development journey and leadership ethos — “Leadership Funnel: Lt Gen Gurmit Singh Journey’s as Governor” and “Thought to Ink: A Collection of Lt Gen Gurmit Singh Writings.”

The books have been authored and edited by Professor K.P. Singh, a senior academic at University of Delhi who currently serves as Head of the Department of Library and Information Science, Director of Gandhi Bhawan, Provost of PG Men’s Hostel, and President of the Delhi Library Association.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Gurmit Singh said the books were more than publications and represented “living records” of Uttarakhand’s developmental journey, public service commitment, and nation-building vision. He noted that Leadership Funnel captures the collective efforts of the state’s youth, women, soldiers, teachers, scientists, and workers, while Thought to Ink seeks to encourage meaningful discussions on education, youth empowerment, social awareness, and public participation.
The Governor emphasized that the books were dedicated not to his personal life but to Uttarakhand’s progress and the spirit of “Nation First.” He highlighted priorities such as river conservation, organic farming, women’s empowerment, technological innovation, research promotion, and preservation of India’s knowledge traditions.
Praising Prof. K.P. Singh, the Governor described him as an exceptionally talented author capable of producing works of lasting significance. He also termed Prof. Singh’s contributions to library science and his efforts to modernize libraries through technology as “historic.”
Earlier, Ms. Upasana Kabra of Atal Prakashan welcomed the Governor and guests, outlining the publisher’s initiatives in promoting literature on modern technology. Introducing the books, Prof. K.P. Singh said Leadership Funnel documents the Governor’s role in advancing Uttarakhand’s infrastructure, education, tourism, and pilgrimage development while preserving the ecological and cultural character of the Himalayan state.
