New Delhi: The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has achieved a major milestone by issuing over 10 lakh Pink Saheli National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC) within just 90 days of launch, making it one of the fastest large-scale digital mobility rollouts in the country.

Launched on March 2, 2026, the Pink Saheli Card enables women commuters to travel free on DTC buses through a seamless digital platform. Built on the National Common Mobility Card framework, the initiative is aimed at enhancing convenience, accessibility and integrated public transport for women across Delhi.

Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh hailed the achievement, saying the card has empowered women by providing a modern, hassle-free travel experience. “Crossing the 10 lakh mark in less than 90 days is a matter of immense satisfaction. This is not merely a travel card; it is a step towards convenience, empowerment and integrated mobility,” he said.

The minister noted that the card can also be recharged and used across multiple NCMC-enabled transport systems, including the Delhi Metro and Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), offering women a unified mobility solution.

Currently, around 73 distribution centres are issuing the cards across the Capital, with nearly 11,000 cards being distributed daily. The government has indicated that it is prepared to further expand issuance capacity if demand rises.

Highlighting the broader benefits of the initiative, Dr. Singh said the digital platform will generate valuable transport data to improve bus deployment, route planning, last-mile connectivity and evidence-based decision-making for Delhi’s public transport network.

In a parallel move to strengthen the city’s transport technology ecosystem, DTC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airawat Research Foundation (ARF), IIT Kanpur for the operation, maintenance and enhancement of the Delhi Transport Stack and the One Delhi App.

The partnership will support digital platforms such as the One Delhi App, ONDC-based bus ticketing and other commuter services through advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and data analytics.

Calling the collaboration a significant step towards building a future-ready public transport system, the minister said the partnership would improve commuter experience, enhance service reliability and enable smarter mobility planning across Delhi. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to citizen-centric transport reforms and technology-driven public service delivery.
