New Delhi | On the solemn occasion of the 350th Supreme Martyrdom of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, a landmark Interfaith Conclave was held at the Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, with the distinguished presence and spiritual address of Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Gaddi Nashin of Dargah Ajmer Sharif and Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, reaffirming India’s enduring legacy of harmony, peace, and religious coexistence.

The conclave was graced by the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan Ji, as Chief Guest, and organised by Padma Shri Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), International President – World Punjabi Organisation, and Chairman – Global Interfaith Harmony Foundation.

In his address, Hon’ble Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan Ji reflected on the historic sacrifice of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, calling it “a universal moral act where the defence of another’s faith became the highest expression of spiritual courage.” He emphasised that India’s constitutional ethos and civilisational wisdom are deeply rooted in respect for pluralism, dialogue, and freedom of belief.

Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney Ji underlined that India’s Gurus, Rishis, saints, and Sufi mystics have collectively safeguarded the nation’s spiritual strength, enabling India to evolve as a land where spiritual wisdom and inclusive growth progress together. He noted that interfaith harmony remains India’s greatest soft power and moral contribution to the world.

Highlighting the spiritual message of Ajmer Sharif, Haji Syed Salman Chishty Ji stated that “the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji stands alongside the teachings of India’s Rishis, Sufi saints, and mystics as a living example to the sacred mandate of protecting human dignity, conscience, and faith.” He added that India’s true strength lies in compassionate pluralism—where spirituality nurtures peace, harmony, and sustainable national growth.

The conclave witnessed enriching reflections from eminent faith leaders including Namdhari Satguru Uday Singh Ji, Singh Sahib Manjit Singh Ji (Former Jathedar, Sri Akal Takht Sahib), HH Jain Acharya Lokesh Muni Ji, Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, Swami Govind Dev Giri Ji Maharaj, and Rev. Fr. Monodeep Daniel Ji, all of whom echoed a unified call for peace, human rights, and global harmony.

The Interfaith Conclave concluded with a collective reaffirmation that India’s timeless spiritual traditions—shaped by revered Gurus, mystics, Rishis, and Sufi saints—continue to preserve the nation’s soul and guide the world toward a future rooted in unity, dialogue, and peace.
