New Delhi: Delhi Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh chaired a high-level meeting with Medical Directors and Medical Superintendents of all Delhi government hospitals at the Delhi Secretariat on Saturday. Senior officials from the Health Department were also present.
During the meeting, Dr. Singh emphasized that every patient visiting government hospitals must receive proper treatment along with all essential medicines. He directed hospital heads to ensure timely submission of their requirements for medicines and medical equipment for the remainder of the 2025–26 financial year to the Central Procurement Agency (CPA) within ten days.
Dr. Singh reiterated that there is no shortage of life-saving or essential medicines and medical equipment in any Delhi government hospital. “According to the Delhi government’s approved drug list, stocks of all essential and life-saving medicines are available in sufficient quantities,” he said.
The Minister also issued strict instructions for daily monitoring of medicine inventories and warned of action against hospital heads if adequate stocks are not maintained. Emergency local purchases have been permitted to meet urgent requirements swiftly.
Highlighting the importance of compassionate care, Dr. Singh instructed doctors and hospital management to treat patients and their attendants with respect and empathy.
“Our government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, is committed to providing free medicines and quality healthcare to every citizen of Delhi,” he said, adding that uninterrupted patient care remains the government’s top priority.
