New Delhi, September 22: A series of 1,250 street plays showcasing the life, public service journey and development vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commenced across Delhi under the Sankalp Seva Abhiyan, Delhi Minister for Art, Culture & Languages Kapil Mishra said on Tuesday.
Titled “Namo Seva Ki Ankahi Kahaniyan”, the street-play series is being organised by the Sahitya Kala Parishad under the Department of Art, Culture & Languages. The initiative aims to create public awareness about service, cleanliness, welfare schemes and nation-building while encouraging citizens to contribute towards the vision of a “Viksit Delhi”, Mishra said.
Addressing a press conference at the Delhi Secretariat, Mishra said the performances would present inspiring stories from Modi’s life, his 25 years of public service, major decisions taken during his governance and political journey, and initiatives associated with the vision of “Viksit Bharat”.
According to the Minister, around 30 to 35 street-play teams will perform simultaneously at different locations across Delhi. Four performances are planned in each mandal, while programmes will also be held in settlements, colonies, major malls, markets and other high-footfall locations.
The performances will highlight themes including “Swachhata Hi Seva”, “Vocal for Local” and girls’ education, alongside information about government welfare and development schemes.
Among the initiatives to be presented are the PM Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission toilets, Saubhagya Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and Jal Jeevan Mission.
The campaign will also cover initiatives relating to women and youth empowerment, including MUDRA loans and Startup India, as well as themes concerning national security and India’s journey towards becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy.
Mishra said the street plays would also introduce audiences to lesser-known and inspiring episodes from Modi’s life, alongside major decisions taken in the national interest.
The programme will further showcase a wider range of government initiatives, including Jan Dhan Yojana, Skill India Mission, Make in India, Namami Gange Yojana, Beti Bachao–Beti Padhao, Digital India Mission, UDAN Yojana, Khelo India School Games, PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, PM SVANidhi, PM MITRA, Smart Cities Mission, Agnipath, PM SHRI, Arogya Maitri and PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
Mishra said the campaign has been designed to communicate information about service, cleanliness and national development through a simple public medium. Citizens will also be encouraged to contribute towards the “Viksit Delhi” vision under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in line with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat”.
