The importance of family planning was highlighted during the ceremony and the emphasis was on raising awareness in the local community. As a part of the programme, “Nayi Pehel Kit” was distributed to four newlyweds to motivate them to adopt responsible and informed family planning. Three outstanding ASHA workers from the Shingimari Block Primary Health Centre – Minara Khatun, Marjina Khatun and Hasnara Khatun – were felicitated for their remarkable contribution in various aspects of family planning.

In addition, a quiz competition was also organized to enhance the knowledge of ASHA workers and further strengthen their understanding of family planning, in which prizes were given to the best three teams. The organisers said that such events play an important role in developing a positive attitude towards family planning, healthcare and population management at the local level.
