International Desk: In a strongly worded press note, Republic of Balochistan has condemned the recently signed US–Iran Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), alleging it is part of a “Pakistani diplomatic conspiracy” and a manifestation of Islamabad’s alleged duplicity in regional affairs.

The group claimed that the MoU—reportedly aimed at de-escalating tensions between United States and Iran following conflict escalation earlier this year—was brokered through mediation by Pakistan but lacks legitimacy and transparency.

Allegations of Dual Policy by Pakistan

The statement alleges that while Pakistan publicly positioned itself as a mediator in the agreement process, its leadership simultaneously engaged in anti-US rhetoric during a mass rally in Lahore on June 16. It further claims that Pakistani political figures made statements suggesting a shifting regional alliance involving Iran, Turkey, and Arab nations—claims presented by the group as evidence of “double standards” in foreign policy.

Wider Political Claims and Historical Assertions

The press note also reiterates long-standing assertions by the group regarding the historical identity and political status of Balochistan, describing it as a historically peaceful and resource-rich region. It further criticizes Western powers, claiming they have been “misled” in understanding regional dynamics since 1947.

Rejection of US–Iran Agreement

Rejecting the MoU outright, the group argued that any US–Iran agreement excluding what it calls “non-Persian nations” within Iran would be incomplete and ineffective. It called for recognition of multiple ethnic groups and demanded political rights and representation, warning that continued exclusion could fuel ongoing unrest.

Strategic Claims and Regional Vision

The statement also highlights Balochistan’s purported strategic coastline and natural resources, claiming the region has the potential to become a major global trade hub capable of sustaining economic self-sufficiency and regional stability.
