The Republic of Balochistan has strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent attempt to tarnish the reputation of its exiled political leadership and diplomats, following the Pakistani military’s puppet assembly’s decision to target more than 300 Baloch individuals abroad.
The controversial move, announced by the so-called “Chief Minister” Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, directs Pakistani authorities to issue Red Notices through Interpol, in collaboration with the federal Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, targeting those accused of links to “proscribed” armed organizations. These individuals, including Baloch political leaders and activists, are said to be residing outside Pakistan.
In a statement released in response to the Pakistani government’s actions, the Republic of Balochistan denounced these efforts as part of a broader strategy to silence the voices of Baloch exiles and sever their connection to their homeland. The statement highlighted the ongoing military occupation of Balochistan, where the people have endured years of oppression, including restricted access to the internet and severe economic exploitation. The Baloch leadership believes that Pakistan’s latest smear campaign is designed to further suppress their movement and their calls for independence.
“The Baloch people will not tolerate such heinous acts by the invading forces,” said a representative of the Republic of Balochistan. “We stand united in our quest for freedom, and no propaganda or false accusations will deter us.”
The statement further stressed that Baloch political leaders abroad are peaceful advocates of Balochistan’s independence. They engage the international community in full compliance with international law and the laws of their host countries. These leaders and activists raise their voices against Pakistan’s violations of human rights in Balochistan, including enforced disappearances, economic exploitation, and the use of chemical weapons against the Baloch population.
Pakistan, which has repeatedly labeled Baloch resistance fighters as “terrorists,” has also come under fire for its own links to terrorism and extremist groups. The Republic of Balochistan accused Pakistan of deliberately trying to link peaceful political activism with militant activity, despite the exiled leadership’s efforts to distance themselves from armed resistance.
“While our leaders are not involved in militant activities inside Balochistan, they take pride in supporting the Baloch people’s defense against Pakistan’s brutal military occupation,” the statement read. “Our struggle remains peaceful, lawful, and focused on the aspirations of the Baloch people for self-determination.”
The Republic of Balochistan further emphasized that Pakistan’s attempts to mislead the global community are failing. The exiled leadership’s efforts have already led to a growing international awareness of the Baloch cause, with several countries and organizations now paying closer attention to the plight of the Baloch people.
The Baloch leadership also urged the international community, including Interpol and the UN, to avoid falling victim to Pakistan’s propaganda and to engage directly with Baloch representatives. “We call on the world to recognize Pakistan’s ongoing war crimes and to hold the Pakistani military and intelligence services accountable for their decades of exploitation and violence in Balochistan.”
As part of its broader campaign, the Republic of Balochistan is also calling for investigations into the illicit activities of Pakistan’s military and intelligence agencies, accusing them of plundering Balochistan’s vast resources and laundering billions of dollars abroad.
The statement closed with a dire warning to Pakistan’s political institutions, which it described as “puppet” regimes, saying any efforts to extradite exiled Baloch leaders or engage in further diplomatic smear campaigns would only result in further humiliation for Pakistan.
“We will continue our fight for justice, for the martyrs of Balochistan, and for the independence of our homeland,” the Republic of Balochistan declared.
In a final appeal to the international community, the Republic warned that Pakistan’s growing alliances with Iran and Turkey – two nations with a history of targeting ethnic minorities and supporting extremist groups – should not be ignored. “The liberation of Balochistan is near,” they concluded, “and the world must recognize the true face of Pakistan’s oppression.”
