Bangkok: Hundreds of Thai, Indian and expatriate guests gathered in Bangkok on Sunday to celebrate the Holi–Songkran Fiesta 2026, a colourful cultural event highlighting the shared spirit of India’s Holi festival and Thailand’s traditional Songkran celebrations.
The event was held at the ITCC in Bangkok from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., drawing large participation from members of the Thai–Indian community and international residents. Organisers said the festival symbolised cultural friendship between Thailand and India.
Dr. Pooja Tripathi attended as the chief guest, while Judge Manvendra Singh and a representative from the Indian Embassy were among the distinguished attendees. Other prominent guests included Phoodit Phumsuwan, Senior President of Mitare Insurance Public Company Limited; spiritual leader Guru Ji; Arnav, a spiritual guru; K.C. Agarwal, President of the International Vaishya Federation; and Dr. Mano Laohavanich, former director of the Gandhi Institute.
The programme featured vibrant dance performances, traditional rituals, and playful celebrations with colours and water, reflecting elements of both Holi and Songkran. Organisers said the event aimed to strengthen cultural ties and promote unity among communities living in Thailand.
The celebration was organised by SKMK along with Dr. Sanjay Kumar and their team. The event also coincided with International Women’s Day and was described as the first such joint Holi–Songkran celebration organised by the group.
“The colours of our festival spreading on foreign soil bring the feeling of India alive,” organisers said.
