According to BTMC, the visit held deep spiritual significance and reaffirmed the age-old cultural and religious ties between India and Thailand, rooted in their shared Buddhist heritage. During her visit, the Royal Noble Consort offered prayers at the Sanctum Sanctorum (Garbh Grih) and under the Holy Bodhi Tree, and took part in chanting and meditation sessions conducted by senior monks of the temple.
She was formally received by Dr Mahashweta Maharathi, secretary, BTMC; Dr Arvind Kumar Singh, member, BTMC; Bhikkhu Chalinda, chief monk of the Mahabodhi Temple; Bhikkhu Dr Deenanand, caretaker monk; and Bhikkhu Dr Manoj, senior monk, along with other officials of BTMC and the Gaya district administration. Special prayer ceremonies, chanting and flower offerings were organised on the occasion.
BTMC members and venerable monks presented commemorative mementos and sacred Bodhi leaves to the Royal Noble Consort inside the Sanctum Sanctorum as a mark of respect and goodwill. The mementos were specially crafted by local artisans, reflecting the region’s traditional craftsmanship.
