New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated a state-of-the-art STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Innovation Lab at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Pitampura, asserting that the Delhi Government is preparing students to become future-ready through technology-driven and innovation-focused education.

Addressing students, teachers and education stakeholders, the Chief Minister said that science, technology, engineering and mathematics are no longer confined to classrooms but have become the cornerstone of the future economy and nation-building. She stressed that education must move beyond textbooks and focus on hands-on learning, experimentation, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Calling the STEM Innovation Lab the beginning of a new era of scientific thinking and innovation, Rekha Gupta said the Delhi Government is committed to equipping government schools with modern infrastructure, digital technology and advanced learning resources to ensure every student is ready to meet future challenges.

She said the new facility will inspire students to develop innovative ideas, cultivate a scientific mindset and create practical solutions to real-world problems. Emphasising the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Chief Minister noted that today’s students will become tomorrow’s scientists, engineers, innovators, entrepreneurs and nation-builders, making equal access to quality education and modern resources a government priority.

Rekha Gupta also acknowledged the contribution of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, HMD India and Da One Group in establishing the lab, describing public-private partnerships as a powerful force for expanding technology-enabled education in government schools. She expressed confidence that such collaborations would further strengthen Delhi’s education ecosystem and provide greater opportunities for students across the capital.
