A sportsperson from a small village has brought glory to India by winning a silver medal at the World Boomerang Championship 2026, highlighting an inspiring journey of determination and resilience.
According to a press note, the athlete faced significant financial hurdles before competing at the global event. Despite seeking assistance from several quarters, including the Tamil Nadu government, ministers, MLAs and other authorities, the required financial support did not materialise.
The breakthrough came when the athlete approached AVVAIYAR IAS ACADEMY for help. At a critical stage, Ms. S. Priya Natrajan, State President of the World Buddhist Federation, provided financial assistance of ₹2 lakh, enabling the athlete to travel to Indonesia and represent India at the championship.
The press note credits the timely intervention of the World Buddhist Federation and AVVAIYAR IAS ACADEMY for making the athlete’s participation possible, culminating in a silver medal that has added another international sporting achievement to India’s tally.
