New Delhi, October 7: The Delhi BJP on Wednesday organised the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years in public life, as part of the party’s nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
BJP National President Nitin Nabin flagged off the torch-bearing yatra from the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, handing over torches to Delhi MPs and senior party leaders for onward journeys to the city’s seven parliamentary constituencies.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra, Delhi Prabhari Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Sah-Prabhari Darshana Jardosh, Organisation General Secretary Pawan Rana, MPs and senior party leaders attended the programme. Delhi government ministers Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kapil Mishra, Ravindra Indraraj and Pankaj Singh were also present.
The programme sought to draw BJP workers’ attention to Modi’s 25-year public-service journey and encourage them to carry forward the party’s stated message of ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’, with a focus on service, public welfare and nation-building.
The torch-bearing yatras were taken towards respective parliamentary constituencies after being flagged off from the stadium. The Chandni Chowk, North-East Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North-West Delhi, West Delhi and South Delhi constituencies were represented by MPs, ministers, party office-bearers and district leaders.
At the event, Delhi BJP workers also took a pledge linked to the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’, committing themselves to service, good governance and nation-building.
The party said the yatra was intended to connect urban and rural areas and carry the message of service and nation-building to different sections of society. Workers from organisational mandals across Delhi participated in the programme before proceeding to their respective areas.
The Delhi BJP said Modi’s 25 years in public life were being observed not merely as a commemoration but also as an occasion to renew the resolve towards a developed, self-reliant and empowered India. The programme also emphasised citizen participation in the nation-building process and carrying the spirit of service to the last person in society.
