Republic of United Balochistan has issued a strongly worded Eid-ul-Adha message renewing its demand for international recognition of an independent Balochistan and accusing Pakistan and China of exploiting the resource-rich region.

In the statement released on X, the group linked the Eid festival with what it described as the “sacrifices” of the Baloch people, claiming that residents continue to suffer due to enforced disappearances, alleged military repression and the long-term effects of Pakistan’s 1998 nuclear tests in Chaghai district.

REPUBLIC OF BALOCHISTAN; EID MESSAGE

Dated: 27-28 May, 2026

Today, while some parts of the world celebrate Eid Al Adha on the 27th of May and others observe it on the 28th, humanity gathers in sacrifice and devotion. Yet while much of the world offers the sacrifice of animals,… pic.twitter.com/LrPdI06tiZ

Referring to the May 28, 1998 nuclear explosions in Ras Koh, the statement alleged that the tests caused widespread environmental damage, radiation-related diseases and economic neglect in Balochistan. It further accused Islamabad and Beijing of extracting gold, copper and other natural resources from the province while ignoring the welfare of local communities.

The message also praised Baloch separatist fighters for what it called “historic victories” against Pakistani security forces and asserted that Pakistan had failed to suppress the separatist movement. It urged the international community to recognize Balochistan as an independent nation.

The statement paid tribute to Baloch women participating in protests and political activism, calling them a “symbol of national pride and honor.” It also appealed for unity among Baloch groups and urged supporters worldwide to pray for imprisoned activists and separatist fighters during Eid gatherings.

Pakistan has consistently rejected separatist claims in Balochistan, maintaining that the province is an integral part of the country and accusing insurgent groups of carrying out militant attacks against civilians and security personnel.
