Mir Yar Baloch calls for religious harmony, protection of places of worship and improved pilgrimage facilities

International News Desk: The Republic of Balochistan has extended warm Navratri greetings to Hindus in Balochistan, neighbouring India and across the world, emphasising religious freedom, cultural harmony and the protection of sacred sites. In a message dated 18 October 2026, Mir Yar Baloch, representative of the Republic of Balochistan, also invited Hindu devotees to visit the historic Hinglaj Mata Temple, revered by the local Baloch community as “Nani Mandir”.

The message conveyed heartfelt wishes for peace, prosperity, spiritual fulfilment and renewed faith during the nine-day Hindu festival. It highlighted religious diversity as a foundation of a peaceful and progressive society, expressing a vision of Balochistan in which people of all faiths can practise their religions freely and live with dignity and security.

Hinglaj Mata Temple at the heart of the message

A central feature of the statement was the invitation to Hindu devotees, particularly followers of Hinglaj Mata, to visit the sacred temple in Balochistan. The shrine holds deep religious, spiritual and cultural significance for Hindus worldwide and is revered as one of the Shakti Peeths.

The statement said the temple’s importance extended beyond its historical location, describing it as an integral part of Hindu religious heritage. It also emphasised the longstanding respect accorded to the shrine by the Baloch people, attributing this tradition to their hospitality, humanitarian values and respect for religious beliefs.

Mir Yar Baloch said the Hindu community’s contribution to the culture, history and social life of Balochistan was valued, adding that Hindu compatriots should feel welcomed and respected while preserving their faith, traditions and identity.

Restoration and better facilities for pilgrims proposed

The message outlined plans to prioritise the renovation and restoration of Hinglaj Mata Temple, its appropriate expansion and improvements to essential facilities for pilgrims and visitors.

It also envisaged a broader approach to safeguarding religious heritage, pledging equal respect and protection for temples, gurdwaras, churches, Buddhist sacred sites and other places of worship.

The statement further expressed a vision of a transparent and accessible visa system in a future free Republic of Balochistan for pilgrims and tourists wishing to explore its religious sites, historical heritage and cultural landmarks, subject to applicable legal requirements.

It said the initiative was intended to facilitate visits by devotees from India and other parts of the world, while acknowledging that people had already contacted the representative expressing interest in visiting Hinglaj Mata Temple and seeking visa-related information.

Call for interfaith harmony and peaceful relations

Extending greetings to Hindus in neighbouring India, the statement called for stronger peaceful relations and cultural cooperation among Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Christians, Buddhists and followers of other religions.

It presented a vision of a society where religious differences would not lead to division, but would instead encourage mutual respect, compassion and human solidarity. The message also linked religious harmony with opportunities for tourism, education, trade, cultural exchange and economic development.

“The message of the Republic of Balochistan is clear and unwavering,” the statement said, stressing that the region’s future should be linked to the shared peace, freedom, dignity and prosperity of all communities.

The statement concluded with a commitment to a future in which people of every faith could worship without fear and where future generations would inherit a legacy of peace, tolerance and shared prosperity rather than hatred and prejudice.

The message was issued in the name of the Republic of Balochistan, with Mir Yar Baloch identified as its representative. The statement reflects the representative’s stated vision and proposals; it does not establish that the proposed arrangements for pilgrimage, restoration or visas have been implemented.
