Jammu & Kashmir, Today the residents and local leaders of Rasiot have strongly protest against the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) regarding the dilapidated and dangerous condition of the Rasiot highway stretch of the Jammu-Poonch Highway. Commuters have cited deep negligence and technical flaws, demanding urgent repairs to prevent fatal accidents.
The protest was under the chairmanship of retired Captain Doulat Ram and others they alleged that the negligence of BRO & construction company.
Meanwhile captain stated that a culvert originally existed at the start of the link road connecting the Rahsiot highway to Mava Patrada. However, the highway contractor demolished it without rebuilding it; instead, they leveled the area by dumping waste material. Consequently, rainwater flows from the highway into people’s shops. Residents also pointed out that none of the old culverts between Kalidhar and Balshama have been repaired; the company simply laid slabs over the old culverts to construct the road. This amounts to a multi-crore rupee scam, and the constraction company should be blacklisted
The road has broken down and developed deep pits in places due to the use of substandard materials—a result of collusion between the BRO and constructed company that secured the subcontract to build the highway from Kalidhar to Bal Shama. More than 15 people have lost their lives in accidents caused by the use of these inferior materials the BRO and the construction company are responsible for these deaths.
People urged to lieutenant governor for give directions to CBI, Vigilance & other agencies for checking this scam how many funds used in this highway. And also check the bank balances & properties of concern officers who commanding in this work.
