Islamabad: Pakistan’s military has reacted sharply to Discovery Channel’s docuseries Declassified: Operation Sindoor, accusing the documentary of presenting a one-sided and highly dramatised account of last year’s military confrontation between India and Pakistan.

The Pakistan Army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), criticised the documentary in a statement, alleging that it portrayed the events in a manner favourable to India while overlooking what it described as the “ground realities” of the conflict.

Operation Sindoor was an 88-hour military campaign launched by India on May 7, 2025, in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians. The cross-border operation involved precision strikes on major terrorist infrastructure across Pakistan.🇮🇳🗿 pic.twitter.com/13pzVQCtwS

The ISPR also questioned India’s portrayal of Operation Sindoor as a military success. The two-part documentary features accounts from India’s senior political and military leadership on the 88-hour confrontation.

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, speaking in the series, said India’s restraint and willingness to show generosity should not be interpreted as weakness. He stressed that India was prepared to take risks and respond firmly when required.

According to the documentary, the primary objective of Operation Sindoor was to destroy terrorist camps, particularly those linked to the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people were killed.

India launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of 7 May last year, targeting several terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in what India described as precision strikes.

The confrontation between the two nuclear-armed neighbours continued for nearly four days before the hostilities ended on the evening of 10 May following an understanding between the two sides.
