Sorab, Balochistan: The Republic of Balochistan has reported alleged Pakistani Air Force and ground-force strikes in the Gudar area of Sorab, claiming that more than 30 civilians, including women and children, were killed and dozens injured.
According to the statement, Pakistani fighter jets and ground forces allegedly carried out bombing and shelling in civilian areas of Sorab and adjoining locations, causing casualties and damage to civilian property. The claims could not be independently verified.
The statement further alleges that wounded and deceased civilians were taken into custody by Pakistani forces and that residents and local authorities were prevented from conducting rescue and relief operations. It also claimed that internet services in the affected area had been suspended.
The Republic of Balochistan alleged that military personnel surrounded hospitals and intimidated medical staff, preventing timely treatment of injured civilians. It claimed that some casualties worsened after victims were unable to reach medical facilities.
Residents reportedly also witnessed drones and Cobra gunship helicopters patrolling the area amid the continuing military activity.
The reported strikes come against the backdrop of longstanding allegations of Pakistani military operations in Balochistan. The statement cited an alleged briefing by Pakistan’s military spokesperson claiming that around 31,080 military operations had been conducted in Balochistan between January and July.
The Republic of Balochistan has urged the international community to take urgent note of the reported attacks and called for protection of Baloch civilians and their fundamental rights.
