Fresh allegations have emerged against Pakistan following a reported attack on a university facility in Afghanistan’s Kunar province, intensifying already strained relations between the two neighbours.
According to claims circulating in regional sources, the recent strike targeted a library at Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan University, resulting in the deaths of Afghan students. The incident has sparked outrage among sections of Afghan society, with calls for accountability at the international level.

The accusations draw parallels with the tragic 2014 attack on the Army Public School Peshawar, in which 132 schoolchildren lost their lives. While that massacre was widely attributed to militant groups, critics referenced the episode while condemning the latest developments, alleging a pattern of violence impacting civilians.
Advocacy voices are now urging the Afghan government to pursue legal action against the Pakistani military, including raising the matter in international forums and investigating potential violations of humanitarian law.
Pakistan has not formally responded to these specific allegations. In past instances, Islamabad has denied targeting civilian infrastructure and has rejected similar claims as unfounded.
The situation remains fluid, with independent verification of the Kunar incident still limited.
