Islamabad/Karachi: The arrest of Pakistan’s alleged “Lady Don” and “Cocaine Queen” Pinky has sent shockwaves through the country’s criminal underworld, exposing what investigators describe as a sprawling high-end narcotics network operating across major cities.
Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies arrested alleged drug supplier Anmol, popularly known as “Pinky”, during a joint operation conducted by Karachi Police and federal investigators. Officials claim she had been running a sophisticated cocaine distribution racket for years, supplying narcotics to influential circles in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
According to investigators, raids on her suspected hideouts led to the recovery of significant quantities of cocaine, other illegal drugs and a pistol. Authorities believe Pinky was among the most active female operators in Pakistan’s illegal drug trade.
Drugs Allegedly Supplied to Pakistan’s Elite Circles
Initial investigations suggest Pinky’s network catered largely to affluent neighbourhoods, elite social circles and private parties. Her alleged operations were reportedly concentrated in Karachi’s upscale DHA and Clifton areas, where investigators claim her supply chain was deeply entrenched.
Officials say the syndicate relied on female couriers, motorcycle riders, railway routes and encrypted communication platforms such as WhatsApp to deliver narcotics discreetly. Authorities further allege that different grades of cocaine were marketed under labels such as “White Coke” and “Golden Category”, reportedly sold at extremely high prices per gram.
From Teenage Runaway to Alleged Drug Kingpin
Pakistani media reports claim Pinky was born in Karachi’s Baloch Para locality in 1995 and left home at the age of 14. She reportedly entered the modelling and dance party circuit before allegedly marrying a lawyer said to have links with international narcotics trafficking.
Investigators allege that her association with organised crime expanded rapidly thereafter. Reports also claim she later married a police officer. Authorities say that, with the support of her brothers Nasir and Shaukat, she built an extensive drug distribution network across multiple Pakistani cities.
Investigators further allege that she learned techniques related to cocaine preparation through online research and internet-based sources.
Previous Allegations and Claims of Corruption
Pinky has allegedly evaded arrest in the past through bribery and political influence. According to media reports, she was detained in Punjab nearly five years ago but later secured her release after allegedly paying a substantial sum.
She has also been accused of attempting to destroy her fingerprints using acid in order to conceal her identity. However, officials say these allegations are still under investigation and have not yet been formally established in court.
Viral Court Video Sparks Public Outrage
Public controversy intensified after a video of Pinky surfaced online following her arrest. In the footage, she appeared without handcuffs, wearing sunglasses and carrying a water bottle while an investigating officer walked behind her.
The visuals triggered widespread criticism on social media, with many questioning why an accused facing serious narcotics charges appeared to be receiving preferential treatment.
Following the backlash, Karachi’s Additional Inspector General ordered an inquiry into the incident. Sindh’s Home Minister also warned that strict action would be taken against any official found guilty of extending unauthorised VIP protocol to the accused.
