Grewal, of Punjabi origin, was widely known for her outspoken views on political, religious, and social developments in Punjab and within the Indian diaspora. Over the years, she had built a significant following on social media platforms, where she regularly shared commentary, live sessions, and reaction videos. Her content often centred on law and order in Punjab, the state’s political landscape, and issues affecting Punjabi youth both in India and abroad.

Nancy Grewal frequently took strong positions on controversial subjects. She had, in the past, spoken against jailed MP *Amritpal Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal leader **Bikram Singh Majithia, and **Gurinder Singh Dhillon, the head of Dera Beas. Grewal was also vocal on the sensitive subject of **India–Canada relations, particularly after diplomatic tensions escalated. She consistently condemned *Khalistani extremists, urging for peace, dialogue, and respect for the sovereignty of both nations.
Her activism was not limited to politics alone. Earlier, she had raised her voice over the mysterious death of fellow Punjabi social media influencer *Kanchan Kumari, also known as *Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, who was found dead in Bathinda in June 2025. Grewal had demanded a thorough probe and had expressed concern about the growing pattern of targeted attacks and suspicious deaths involving outspoken content creators.
According to the *LaSalle Police Service, officers and paramedics responded to a report of a stabbing shortly before *9:30 p.m. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found Grewal suffering from severe stab wounds. She was given immediate medical attention and then rushed to hospital by *Essex–Windsor Emergency Medical Services. Despite the efforts of emergency personnel and hospital staff, Grewal *succumbed to her injuries.
In an initial public statement, the LaSalle Police said they are actively investigating the incident. “The LaSalle Police Service offers our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim,” the statement read, adding that further details would be shared as the investigation progresses.
News of her death has triggered an outpouring of shock and sorrow from her followers and members of the Punjabi community. Many have described her as fearless and uncompromising, someone who used her platform to question powerful figures and highlight uncomfortable truths. Community leaders and viewers have also called for a transparent investigation, urging authorities to determine whether her killing was linked to her outspoken online presence.
As tributes continue to flood social media, questions remain about the circumstances leading up to the attack and whether Grewal’s sharp criticism of influential personalities and extremist elements made her a target. For now, her death has once again drawn attention to the growing risks faced by vocal digital creators who challenge political and religious narratives online.
